Branding

Giving Your Layout Personality

This week's lesson is all about applying the assets you've gathered to your site base in Photoshop.

Same Layout, Different Presentation

Now that we've gathered our photos, graphics, color schemes, fonts, and copy, we need to apply them to our base layout in Photoshop. The interesting thing you'll find is that you can have two or more different sites with the exact same layout structure, but with completely different styles. This is like adding different cases to your phone or by wearing different clothes. You've got the same thing underneath, but presented very differently.

Photoshop Video Tutorial

Watch this video once to learn the process of applying a brand to a layout and then attempt it with your own layout. Feel free to rewatch different sections as needed. Also, don't feel like you have to do EXACTLY what I'm doing. I'm just demonstrating techniques here.

Also, remember the principles of color and typography from our previous lessons.
